Our Story

I remember sitting there, looking at Benji, and thinking, something isn’t right.

He wasn’t meeting his milestones. He was different from my other children. People told me he was just a little slow, that all babies do things in their own time. But this was different, and my mama heart knew it.

What came next, I wasn’t ready for. I didn’t know who to call. I didn’t know what to do or even know what to ask.

If you’re raising a child with special needs, you may remember a moment like that too, and everything that came after. The nights that never end. The systems that fail. The people who mean well but don’t understand. The marriage bending under a weight it was never meant to carry. The silence where help was supposed to be.

I didn’t need someone with all the answers. I needed someone to tell me where to start, and to sit beside me and say, You are not alone.

But I didn’t know where to turn.

In that season, life felt out of control, and I felt like I had nothing to grab onto. But He was there, and He was the only thing to hold onto. Some days my faith was strong. Some days it was barely a whisper.

But I began to see that God wasn’t asking me to understand everything. He was asking me to trust Him with the next step.

Slowly, I realized the pain I had walked through could become a place of purpose. What I wished someone had done for my family could become what I offer another family. And I learned that asking for help isn’t weakness. Sometimes it’s how God answers a prayer.

That is how The Benji Network Foundation began, named for the little boy who started it all.

God is at the center of everything we do. Not as a condition for receiving help. Not as a requirement to walk through the door. But as the reason the door is open at all.

I believe He is the One who sits with the people everyone else overlooks. He meets families exactly where they are, exhausted, isolated, overwhelmed, and holding on by a thread, without judgment, without conditions, and without an agenda except love.

So that’s how we meet families too.

Whatever you’re carrying, we’re here to help.

And if you’re angry at Him right now, that’s okay too. I have been there.

I have asked if this was punishment. I have wondered where He was in the middle of something so hard. I have sat with clenched fists and a worn-out heart.

You are not less welcome here because of that.

You may be the most welcome of all.

None of this happens alone. Benji’s Brigade is made up of neighbors, churches, and businesses fighting for warrior families when those families don’t have the strength to fight for themselves.

Our Vision

A world where no family falls through the cracks loving a child with a disability. Where parents find the help they need before they break. Where marriages survive the weight of caregiving. Where siblings are seen. Where children with disabilities grow into the fullness of who they were created to be. Where the church opens its doors and communities wrap around the families nobody else is fighting for. That is the world The Benji Network Foundation is building — one family at a time, starting in the greater Chattanooga and North Georgia area.

Our Mission

The Benji Network Foundation exists for families raising children with disabilities who are falling through the cracks — fighting for the whole family through direct financial relief, vetted caregiver connections, educational support, and genuine community — so parents can breathe, marriages can survive, and children can thrive.
